JOB RATE AT ICMS HIGHER THAN TOP-RANKED UNIVERSITIES
The overall quality and international reputation of the Australian Higher Education system were again highlighted with the recent release of the QS global ranking of universities. The QS World University Rankings Survey rankings are considered to be amongst the leaders of the international university ranking systems and incorporate academic reputation, employer reputation, citations and faculty and student ratios.
Five Australian universities were named in the top 50 universities in the world in the QS rankings, in good company alongside prestigious institutions such as Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the USA and Cambridge University in the UK.
While ICMS was not part of the QS World University Rankings Survey, graduate statistics from the national Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT) 2016 Survey reveal that ICMS is a leader for the full-time graduate employment rate at 75.8%. The top five QS ranked Australian Universities averaged 70.6%.
The QILT Survey defines full-time employment as the proportion of graduates who were employed full-time four months after completing their course, as a percentage of those who were available for full-time employment.
A key reason of ICMS graduates gaining full-time employment is due to the college’s focus on industry training and a strong academic foundation, as integrated components of all of the degrees offered by the College.
“We provide the best industry training program in Australia,” ICMS President and CEO Dr. Dominic Szambowski said. “We recognise that graduates need more than a qualification to be competitive in a challenging job market. All of our students graduate with extensive industry experience.”
Dr. Szambowski added that ICMS’s impressive network of industry partners, coupled with the industry training each degree student completes, means that for many graduates, this process introduces them to their future employers.
